WQB redesigned an existing public plaza at the corner of 93rd St. and First Avenue, owned and managed by the condo board of the adjacent building. The firm worked with the co-op board and City Planning Commission to reinterpret a 1986 plaza design under city planning’s revised plaza regulations. With the goal of creating a safe, flexible and sustainable space for the entire community, WQB cooperated with the Community Board and the local police precinct on incorporating best safety practices. The project was granted a state and city NYSERDA green roof tax abatement for providing a sustainable environ.
